400061 Solanum 'Aureo Varigatum'
This variety of Chilean Potato Vine is the one to choose for it is hardier than the plain Solanum crispum and produces flowers in greater abundance. It is grown for showy blooms, golden foliage and for quick cover of trellises and other garden structures. It is just the thing to cover a sunny wall. This vigorous scented climber will flower for you from June through to the end of September.Abundant clusters of star-shaped, fragrant blooms grace this scrambler throughout the growing season. The flower color is white occasionally tinged with blue. Fruit is a true berry but is rarely produced in garden situations. This semi-evergreen is frost hardy to -5C and will therefore retain her leaves with milder winters - winter protection is required if the weather is more severe, therefore always plant in a sheltered position. An absolutely stunning plant to clothe walls, trellis, fence panels or pergolas as we have leaf and flower cover over a long season. 'Aureo Varigatum' is just hard to beat - masses of distinctive flowers and it is unstoppable, growing more than 6ft a year when its happy!
